Niels Tröger: First German karting world champion in 43 years, a historic victory
Wackersdorf, Germany – Niels Tröger, 21, has made history: He is the first German karting world champion since Bernd Schneider in 1980. This achievement becomes even more impressive when you consider that Max Verstappen is the only Formula 1 world champion this title also succeeded.
The mechanical engineering student from Rodewisch impressed with an outstanding performance, supported by his mechanic Marc Feilen and the SRP Maranello Factory Team. “This victory is a historic milestone for German motorsport,” says Niels Tröger.
At the end of the year, Tröger will be honored for his extraordinary performance at the FIA Gala in Paris. He is already focusing on the next race in the DMSB Shift-Kart Cup in Kerpen.
Niels has been a member of Racemates, an innovative motorsport platform, since 2022. Here, for the first time, fans have the opportunity to participate directly in the success of their favorite racing drivers. This is made possible by trading cards whose authenticity is secured on the blockchain. The cards can also be used in the Racemates Racing League, which is based on the principle of Real Result Gaming.
