Max Reis, a rising talent in the Formula 4 French Championship, is the first driver to benefit from this program. "I'm very happy to be able to explore new avenues in fan interaction with Racemates. I'm also grateful to my community for being able to support me even better. This way, we bring fans and drivers closer together," says Reis.
The royalties paid by Racemates to the drivers come from the sale of trading cards, whose authenticity is secured by blockchain technology. Fans who own a card receive exclusive access to the Racemates Racing League, which starts in September 2023. For the first time, fans can directly benefit from the success of their favorite drivers.
Racemates plans to distribute additional royalties to its drivers in the near future. "We are delighted to be able to support motorsport in this way and are proud of the progress we have made so far," say founders Huy & Michael.
With the support of top drivers such as Maximilian Günther, the factory driver for Maserati in Formula E, as well as drivers from the DTM, such as Christian Engelhart (Porsche) and Maximilian Paul (Lamborghini), Racemates strives to advance motorsport through innovative technologies and stronger fan engagement.
